MODERN PENTATHLON Seventy two
of the world’s fittest athletes will compete for two gold
medals at Greenwich Park, the Olympic Handball Arena and the
Olympic Park Aquatics Centre in London (August 11 and 12)
during the 2012 London Games.
The sport - which involves, shooting, fencing, swimming,
riding and running - has been a part of every Olympic Games
since 1912. It was invented by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the
man who founded the modern Olympic movement.
