TRIATHLON
The Olympic Triathlon involves a 1,500-meter swim in open
water followed by a 40-kilometre cycle race and a 10-kilometre
run. At the 2012 Games 55 men and 55 women will be chasing
just two gold medals in central London’s splendid Hyde Park
(August 7 to August 8).
Despite its strength-sapping nature, the sport continues to
grow in popularity and first debuted at the Olympics at the
Sydney Games in the year 2000.
