VOLLEYBALL
London’s Earl Court
is to host the hotly-contested indoor volleyball tournament
for the 2012 Olympics while the beach volleyball events will
take place at the Horse Guards Parade, both between (July
27 and August 12).
A total of 384 players are expected to take part in pursuit of
two gold medals in each sport.
Volleyball made its Olympic debut at Tokyo in 1964 but beach
volleyball had to wait until Atlanta 1996.
